Who is Jesus?

1Jesus was born in a barn (literally!) over 2,000 years ago and lived on earth for more than 30 years. Carpentry was his family business, which he quit to become a preacher and teacher. He taught things that turned the values of the world upside down—like if anyone wanted to be great, they should be like a servant. He taught that love should be the way of life of everyone who wanted to follow Him—love for God and love for each other. His incredible teaching was matched by His supernatural power. In front of many witnesses, he performed countless miracles, including healing people and raising the dead.

Despite teaching and living a life of love, he didn’t impress everyone. In fact, his teaching, claims and miracles were so unsettling to some that he was arrested on false charges, convicted in a sham trial and sentenced to death.

Normally, death is the end of a biography. But Jesus’s death was as amazing as his life. As he was dying, enemies and scoffers taunted him, telling him to save himself as he had for others. After he died, he did just that. Three days after his crucifixion, his followers found his grave empty. Jesus came back to life!

Jesus appeared to many and continued to teach them about the kingdom of God. Then, forty days after His resurrection, in full view of his closest followers, Jesus went back to heaven.

And He has promised to return one day and take those who trust Him into His home forever. But those who don’t will receive His judgement.
